Dwight L. Moody, with only a district school education, without a church or society behind him to support him, without any of the recognized graces of oratory, spoke to an estimated one hundred million, and converted an estimated one million souls. He established more permanent centers of religious activity than any preacher of his day. Hence, it is certainly fitting that we examine critically the theology of so influential a man.
