Practically everybody in Christendom claims to be in some sense under Scripture. The Liberal feels that he is being "true to the deepest intentions" of Jesus or of Paul when he treats Scripture in his own fashion. Bultmann claims to be dealing so radially with the form of the New Testament message merely in order to confront modern man with what he considers the essential content of the New Testament message.
