This project is my personal translation of the informational signs found inside the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum. The inspiration and intention for this project comes directly from my experience as a WLC student; Some of my previous assignments had emphasized engagement with our local Hispanic community in real-world contexts, which eventually became my primary motivation when deciding on the topic of my senior project. Literacy is important for the student to develop the skills that allow them to see beyond the pronunciation of words and their meaning. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate a better method of teaching literacy to teachers. That way students can improve, learn to speak, read, and write the Spanish language effectively in a simple way.
