Beginning in California, Peters enlisted and trained at Fort Polk, Fort Walters, Fort Rucker, Fort Hunter, and left to Vietnam from Travis Air Force Base. Peters gives a background of the political climate around the Vietnam War and his job on a hunter-killer team as a Cobra pilot.

Joseph Michael Macko II was born in the small town of Greensburg, Pennsylvania in 1953, where he lived for 5 years until he moved to Covina California where lived until he joined the Navy. Instead of going to college Joseph served in the Vietnam War from 1973-1975 as a Navy Seabee and in the Navy reserves from 1975-1979. Joseph after his military career took up the sport of body building and has lifted weights ever since. David Cromwell is currently 74 years of age and was born in Middletown, New York. He had his own medical practice in New York before retiring in Florida. His relation to Amanda Reed is that he is her great uncle on her father’s side. David Cromwell served for a year in the Vietnam as a physician working at a clinic in a relatively safe part of Vietnam before being shipped off to the Ashah Valley where he encountered very difficult circumstances.

Lonnie Edwards was born in Madison County, Alabama on December 6th 1942. He attended high school at a local school in Madison County. He had basic training at Fort Rally Camp before being sent over to Vietnam. After he came back from Vietnam he went to trade school at JF Drake in Huntsville and worked with PPJN Industries. He married and had children and later got divorced and remarried. They are both retired and living in Madison County.
