This collection is comprised of a notebook used by Dallas T. Herndon, containing information taken from a circa 1880s pamphlet titled “List of Field Offices, Regiments, and Battalions in the Confederate States Army,” published by the United States Department of War. Dallas Herndon pulled information about Arkansas from that pamphlet and complied it in this notebook, listing all the Confederate Officers, Regiments, and Battalions that fought in Arkansas during the American Civil War. This collection also contains a list of the 3rd Arkansas Infantry soldiers who were buried in Stonewall Confederate Cemetery, part of Mount Hebron Cemetery, located in Winchester, …

This letter dated December 28, 1953, from Irene Martin Edwards on behalf of United States Senator William Langer to Three Affiliated Tribes Tribal Chairperson Martin Cross, thanks Cross for his letter of December 26th which enclosed a resolution passed by the National Congress of American Indians. Edwards notes that Langer is out of town but will be glad to receive the letter and resolution.
A handwritten note at the top of the letter reads, "Cross, Martin."
