Green, Paducah, Kentucky, to his brothers John Henry and Samuel Ford Green, presumably in Illinois, describing military life and maneuvers in western Kentucky. Green was serving in Company B, 2nd Regiment Illinois Cavalry. He describes his tent with a homemade chimney in one letter and makes some disparaging comments about the “Secesh” in Murrary, Kentucky.
