Also includes poems, recipes, a trade card for Louisville’s Alexander House, a sample print strip from a telegraph machine, and genealogical data.

Finding aid only for Folklife Archives Project 1130. Collection contains flyers and digital photographs taken at the Community Heritage Day event held on 4 November 2017 at the Kentucky Building in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The event—sponsored by the Kentucky Folklife Program, WKU Library Special Collections, the Kentucky Museum, and a National Endowment for the Humanities Common Heritage grant—invited the general public to bring in items that were “significant to your family or our community story.” Materials were digitized, uploaded onto flash drives, and given to participants for personal, long-term accessibility. Note that Item 29 and Item 30 are duplicate images.

He reports on receipt of information that “opens up the prospect of my soon becoming a millionaire,” namely the conversion of his claim as mortgage creditor of an estate with valuable landholdings in Virginia and Kentucky into a purchaser’s interest. He then hopes to “sell an interest . . . so that we can live together.”

Letters from Harvey Bullfinch Lovell, Waldoboro, Maine, to his fiancé, Ethel Weeter, Louisville, Kentucky, in which he discusses her physical activity, his travel to Maine, study sessions at the Harvard University library, concerns about his thesis, and his own recreational and social activities during the summer of 1932. One letter from 1933 mentions the economic crisis at a local bank and how the depression was affecting attendance at a private school from which he graduated.

Remarking on animosity toward Germany, where her brother was a prisoner-of-war, she nevertheless regrets the hunger among the poor.
