On March 21, 22, and 28, 2019, an intensive archeological survey was completed in order to inventory and evaluate archeological resources within the footprint of proposed Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 664 roadway improvements from Interstate Highway 35E to Interstate Highway 45 in Ellis County, Texas. The project is identified under Texas Department of Transportation control-section-job number 1051- 01-051. The work associated with this archeological survey was carried out under Texas Antiquities Permit 8817 by Brett Lang (Project Archeologist) and Melissa M Green (Principal Investigator) of Cox|McLain Environmental Consulting, Inc.

No archeological sites were recorded during the survey. Results of the survey …

On February 3 of 2016, and on March 1 and 2 of 2017, archeologists from aci consulting conducted a pedestrian survey and backhoe trenching prior to construction of the eastern portion of the Bell County WCID No. 1 Treated Water Line (Phase II), in Bell County, Texas. The Area of Potential Effect (APE) for this investigation is the 50.5-acre (20.4-hectare) eastern portion of the treated water line, which is approximately 8.3 miles (13.4 kilometers) in length, with a 50-foot (15-meter) Right-of-Way (ROW). On January 17 and 30, 2018, archeologists from aci consulting conducted an intensive pedestrian survey prior to construction of the Cottonwood Wastewater Interceptor Phase C-2, in Williamson County, Texas. The original alignment for the proposed Cottonwood Wastewater Interceptor Phase C-2 alignment was 0.26 mile (0.42 kilometer) in length including a 20-foot buffer, totaling 1.26 acres (0.51 hectare). On December 3, 2019, a reroute of the proposed line was also surveyed. This final alignment and final Area of Potential Effect (APE) is 0.94 mile (1.51 kilometers) in length with a 25-foot buffer, totaling 5.7 acres (2.3 hectares).

The Pearson site (41RA5) in the Blackland Prairie of East Texas is one of a number of aboriginal archaeological sites recorded during a 1957 archaeological survey of the flood pool of then proposed Lake Tawakoni on the Sabine River; the site is now inundated. The Pearson site was located on several low sandy rises across ca. 25 acres in the Hooker Creek-Sabine River floodplain, and these rises had both aboriginal and European artifacts on the surface. Palo Duro Canyon has been an important locale for human occupation with its distinct topography, fauna, and flora from the Paleoindian inhabitants to those of the Historic Period. There is archeological evidence of human habitation at Palo Duro Canyon throughout the past 12 millennia. Native Americans who lived in and around the canyon had access to resources not easily found on the adjoining upland plains. The canyon provided an abundance of sheltered camping and year-round supply to water, wood, stone tool materials, game, and wild plant resources. Boca Chica Beach spans the south Texas coast in Cameron County for a distance of roughly 12 kilometers between Brazos Santiago Pass and the mouth of the Rio Grande River at the Texas and Mexican border. More than 165 historic ships have been reported lost along the south Texas coast in this general area and at least four, or portions thereof, have been discovered so far. There is a single ancestral Caddo ceramic vessel in the vessel collections at the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory at The University of Texas at Austin from the Mack Spencer site (41CS6) near the Sulphur River in Cass County, in East Texas. Dated to ca. 6,000 – 5,750 cal BP considerable amounts of material culture associated with what is identified as the Calf Creek Horizon by Don G. Wyckoff, has been recovered from the Gault site (Wyckoff pp. 1-8, 1994). The natural response to this evidence was to expand upon previous understandings of this time period (Wyckoff and Shockey 1994) (Weber 1994) (Wyckoff and Shockey 1995) (Drass 1999). On March 21, 2018, aci consulting conducted a cultural resources survey for the Howard Lane Water Main Extension in Travis County, Texas. The proposed water line will be constructed along Howard Lane from Gregg lane to Cameron Road and will be approximately 3,400 feet in length, with a 50-foot Right-of-Way (ROW) (Figures 1 and 2). The Area of Potential Effect (APE) for the project is approximately 3.9 acres (1.58 hectares).

This report documents the substantive findings and management recommendations of an archeological survey conducted by Integrated Environmental Solutions, LLC (IES) in preparation for an easement disposal by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District (SWG) within property owned by the Port of Victoria (POV), in Victoria County, Texas. This report presents the results of an archeological survey for a 12-acre tract near Mill Creek, south of Farm-to-Market (FM) road 1488 in Montgomery County, Texas. The Montgomery County Municipal Utility District (MUD) 131 is proposing to build public utilities and make modifications to a tributary of Mill Creek on the 12-acre property, which requires consultation with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. A targeted intensive archeological survey was completed to inventory and evaluate archeological resources within the footprint of proposed improvements and roadway widening to Upland Avenue between 66th Street and 114th Street in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.

The total project is approximately 3.0 miles (4.8 kilometers) in length within a 120-foot- (36.6- meter-) wide corridor; typical depth of impacts is expected to be 2 feet (0.6 meters) along the roadway.
