Il y a beaucoup de différences entre les cultures française et américaine. Un grand désaccord est entre la mentalité au sujet de la notion de travail dans chaque pays. Une théorie sur cette divergence est proposée par le sociologue Max Weber dans son ouvrage The Protestant Work Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism.
