This collection is contained in two series, the first being George S. Patton Jr.’s letters to his Aunt “Nannie” and his mother from both VMI and West Point (1903-1908). The second being George S. Patton Jr.’s book “My Father as I remembered him.”, which contains a biography of his father, George S. Patton, and a brief biography of other family members, including himself up to 1927.

The collection highlights Baskerville’s interest in Medieval and Renaissance literature. It includes offprints of some of his published works, fragments and drafts of other scholarly research, and notes that he may have used for some of his lectures. Of special note are copies of his M.A. and PhD. theses from Columbia and a three-page handout created by Baskerville for his Dante course (ca 1960-1969) with drawings by friend and colleague Ralph Donald Lindeman.

The collection is primarily composed of information relating to the publication of Jen Bryant’s picture books and novels. The greatest amount of content is related to books written between 2004 and 2011, but the collection spans from the early days of Bryant’s writing career in 1991 to work on her most recently published book, with additional donations anticipated at the author’s convenience.

Materials relating to Bryant’s professional activities and personal life are also available. These include records of events she attended, awards and honors she received, publishers’ catalogues, and personal correspondence.

The collection consists mainly of materials used by Spinelli in the writing and publication processes of her books. Handwritten, typed, and word processed drafts from various stages of the books’ development are included. E-mail and written correspondence between Spinelli, publishers, and editors is also part of the collection. Several of the books were turned down by multiple publishing houses before being sold, and some manuscripts were never accepted at all. Myths of gods, legends of battles, and folktales of magic abound in the heroic narratives of the Middle Ages. Mythology in the Middle Ages: Heroic Tales of Monsters, Magic, and Might describes how Medieval heroes were developed from a variety of source materials: Early pagan gods become euhemerized through a Christian lens, and an older epic heroic sensibility was exchanged for a Christian typological and figural representation of saints. Most startlingly, the faces of Christian martyrs were refracted through a heroic lens in the battles between Christian standard-bearers and their opponents, who were at times explicitly described in demonic terms. …

This collection consists largely of manuscripts of Nancy Springer's earlier novels, dating from 1977 to 1987. Although the vast majority of the manuscripts are typed with handwritten corrections, the collection does contain the first draft of The Golden Swan written entirely in Nancy Springer’s hand. Also included are printer’s galleys, readers proofs, and three of Springer’s books published in Japanese.

The Wilton C. Dinges Collection is arranged into five Series. I. Biographical Information, II. Antoinette Feleky, III. Correspondence, IV. Manuscripts & Published Material and V. Miscellaneous.

The bulk of the collection is correspondence between Mencken and Antoinette Feleky, wife of Charles Feleky, a close friend of Mencken's. Other items include several typed manuscripts, bibliographic information compiled from newspaper and magazine articles about Mencken, family and friends and other miscellaneous.

The library also holds more than 150 volumes of Menckeniana in addition to two scrapbooks (indexed) of photostatic copies of editorials and articles by Mencken that appeared in the Baltimore Evening …

The bulk of the collection consists of the official record books of the two societies and their libraries. Constitutions, minute books, account books and library circulation records cover the period 1831-1924 (with gaps). There are several library catalogues, arranged both alphabetically and numerically. Also included are correspondence spanning the societies’ years of existence in the form of letters received and copies of letters sent, and evidence of society activities including event programs, debating topics, and copies of essays, poems and addresses delivered before the societies.
