The Howl is a magazine that is planned, researched, written, photographed and designed by Otterbein University's ESL and international students. This publication contains the works of students attending the Sayre campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the spring, summer and fall semesters of 2017. This year’s edition also includes the winners of the college’s contest for high school juniors, called Timed W.A.R.P. (Writing And Research Project.)
This collection of works is produced in conjunction with the annual Literary Festival. The 2017 edition of The Broad River Review was edited by C. V. Davis. The publication contains fiction, non-fiction, art, poetry, and photography. The cover, "Autumn is Calling," was photographed by Ashley Koch. The winner of the J. Calvin Koontz Poetry Award, given annually for a portfolio of poetry to a senior English major, is Elizabeth Erhartic.
