This thesis supports the Master of Fine Arts exhibition at the Reece Museum at East Tennessee State University from April 28-June 25, 2009. The exhibition is comprised of 19 monotype prints on paper. Ideas explored include the creative power of limitation, metaphor, divinity, relationship, human development, life experience, and the bond between mother and child. This thesis supports the Master of Fine Arts exhibition at the Tipton Gallery, East Tennessee State University, from March 23^rd through April 3^rd, 2009. To comment on the title of my thesis, it describes an invented process created to re-contextualize failed paintings into works that critically comment on the discipline of painting itself. Taking In showcases a selection of work from students attending the Art Institute of Boston Work was collected by members of this class for presentation before a jury of distinguished artists from outside of the school. The images selected by the jury were then sequenced for the book, which is designed to be distributed throughout the artistic community. In addition, the work is displayed in a gallery exhibition and on our website. In your hands is the result of the hard work and dedication of the members of this class.

Kimmerly Kiser: A Memorial Exhibition, Robert And Elaine Stein Galleries

This catalog features work from a memorial exhibition of drawings and paintings by the late Kimmerly Kiser held at Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries. Kiser was a professor of painting and drawing at Wright State University from 1969 to 1995. He continued teaching as faculty emeritus until his passing in 2006. The exhibition ran from January 25 through February 6, 2009.

School Play was the outcome of a public art commission associated with the construction of a new school building for a state primary school, catering for children from ages 4 – 12.
