During the spring and summer of 1975 Wright State University organized a cooperative workshop/exhibitions program with three other schools and, in 1976, received the support of the National Endowment for the Arts. The program consisted of sending four prominent contemporary artists to the four colleges and universities during the 1976-1977 academic year. The aim of this publication is to re-create, as closely as possible the experience that the visitor to the gallery may have encountered. The primary difference between the experiences of the gallery visitor and the reader of this book lies in the nature of the clues. The guide is a visual record of the installation of an environmental sculpture in the Wright State University Art Gallery. Room for Wright State was designed and built specifically for the Art Gallery by Stephen Antonakos. This document is meant to lend permanence to a temporary exhibition and to allow the reader to participate in the experience of the project from inception through completion.
