Trinity Episcopal Cathedral has over forty large stained glass windows that range in age from the 15 to the 20th Century. The medieval windows were produced in England and Germany, while the more contemporary windows were produced by such prominent studios as those directed by Willet, Connick, Tiffany, Heaton, Young, and Burnham. The more contemporary windows are of considerable artistic and historical interest, but there is very little information available about them. Researchers in the fields of game design, childhood development, learning, and movement studies discuss the concept of play. However, the term has been frequently redefined resulting in a divergent understanding of the concept. This paper presents a Unified Theory of Play that aims to provide a holistic examination of the domain that will enhance understanding of play by delivering a tripartite framework for critical analysis of a variety of computer games. Minecraft is presented herein as a case study analysis using the proposed framework.

It proposes a series of film-to-game adaptation models which describe the practice of this type of adaptation based on structuralist approaches to adaptation theory, aesthetic game studies, and scholarship on transmedia storytelling.

Mythical Figures focuses on three of the best indigenous potters from the Kichwa culture: women who both make traditional pottery vessels such as the intricately decorated chicha drinking bowl called a mucawa, and who also create fascinating figurative work that comes from Kichwa mythology and their imaginations. With harder times lurking around the corner, and Emily’s birthday fast approaching, he is determined to find his daughter a special birthday gift. Along the way he receives a few surprises of his own. Though simple in it’s presentation this film draws in the viewer and reminds us of the most attractive qualities of the human character. Emily’s Pizza was concepted by Professor Daehwan Cho of Boise State University and then adapted to script and produced by Parallel Worlds Productions.

Halal Hotdogs is a collaborative effort between Brian Wiley, Mohamud Mumin, and Ahmed Hirsi. It was devised as a way to celebrate Somali culture and change its perception here in the Twin Cities by using food as a catalyst for community engagement and cultural acceptance. The project also serves as an opportunity to provide job skills and entrepreneurial development to young Somalis. Ultimately, we feel that food carts could create a source of sustainable income for newly-arrived Somali immigrants that may otherwise struggle to find meaningful work.
