Engaging Game Design Students Using Peer Evaluation, Amber Settle, Charles Wilcox, Chad Settle

Many information technology educators have worked in recent years to develop courses to attract students to the field. As faculty achieve success with technical courses designed to be appeal to a broad audience, it can be hard to maintain the initial excitement particularly as multiple sections of the courses are taught on a continuing basis. In this article we describe a project that added peer evaluation to an assessment in a game design course with a large non-major audience. While controversial, peer evaluation has shown some promise in motivating students to work harder and in improving certain key skills. Consistent …

As a result of rapid technological advances in printing industry, digital printing systems now holds an important place. Looking at these systems in general, two technologies come forward. First one is continuous inkjet and the second is electrophotographic printing system. Digital printing systems have some advantages as well as some disadvantages. One of them is to provide color stability and reliability. A latent image is generated on the drum by electric charge in electrophotographic printing system. Toner is brought onto the latent image thanks to the electric charge on the latent image. The toner on the drum is collected on …

Digital printing is a commonly used for small and medium run length printing. It seems to be an alternative to traditional printing systems as its print speed and quality improve each day. Printing can be done by digital printing machines using many different substrates and toners. Different color and quality results can be obtained depending on the substrates used in digital printing systems as well as in other printing systems. Substrates give different results for density and Lab values depending on their surface characteristics even if they print at the same printing conditions. Electrophotographic printing technology is one of the …
