The Student Designer was a student-run monthly newspaper published between 1929 and 1932. The issue of December 1931 included a short essay from Mrs. Danforth, RISD president about the Aims for the School and the RISD Museum. There were ads for local businesses, short stories, and club and school news.

The issue of May 1931 included a brief essay from Royal Bailey Farnum, educational director at RISD to RISD seniors. Stories, a poem, a photo of the Senior Class of 1931, ads for local businesses and school news was also included.

As far as the writer could find in her reading no one has ever written a finished study of this phase of Music, Art, and Literature. Of course, there are hints of it here and there in many books, but in no one in particular was a detailed study given.
