James Joyce told his friend Frank Budgen. “‘I want’ said Joyce, as we were walking down the Universitätstrasse, ‘to give a picture of Dublin so complete that if the city one day suddenly disappeared from the earth it could be reconstructed out of my book.’” (Budgen, 1960, p.67, 68).

This research looks at the relevance of Dublin to Joyce’s writings and to the relevance of Joyce’s writings to Dublin. It is concerned with the virtual Dublin of Joyce’s writings, the physical manifestation of Dublin over time, and the relationships between them.

Creativity would seem to be the single most important competency of design practitioners. The literature would suggest that, in general, creativity is considered to be a positive thing generating positive outcomes of design practices and their clients. This paper investigates how creativity can be defined within the paradigm of design practice and practitioners and draws upon references in international literature to establish themes and concepts. Once identified, these themes are then investigated to identify potential problems or issues with creativity. This thesis describes the research and production processes of the set design for the play, Love’s Labor’s Lost by William Shakespeare, performed in the Howell Memorial Theatre, from November 13^th through November 23^rd at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska. Love’s Labor’s Lost was directed by Melora Kordos. David Tousley acted as the production’s set designer, Sarah Resch designed the lighting, Katie Davis designed the costumes, Lucas Dunwoody designed the sound, Vicki Halverson acted as the props mistress, and Greg Rishoi was the acting technical director.

Museum exhibitions are conventionally understood to be educational, meaning that they convey information to visitors. The content of this information is understood to include visual, auditory, and written media, as well as content from tactile, spatial, and social encounters. This article asserts that visitors also gain knowledge through bodily kinesthetic experiences while in the exhibition setting. Emerging research in other areas has revealed connections between physical posture and cognitive issues, such as emotion and attitude, but this has not yet been applied to museum practice.
