For this assignment, I wanted to tell a story of a girl unraveling the stories of the abandon kingdom she's entering. I went a surreal, atmospheric theme for this playlist so I can capture the curios yet ominous journey that the character is about to face. The song that I choose to reflect the illustration was White Palace by Christopher Larkin. The setting has a monochromatic scheme of grays while the character had dulled out colors to show that she's out of place. The character is about to cross the bridge, making her way towards the palace.

Satori Literary Magazine

The Satori is a student literary publication that expresses the artistic spirit of the students of Winona State University. Student poetry, prose, and graphic art are published in the Satori every spring since 1970.

The Satori 2023 editors are Gabriel Hathaway, Van Herman, Madeline Schonitzer, Brianna Strohbehn, Page Sutton, Willow Swinbank, and Emily Venné. The Satori 2023 faculty advisor is Dr. Jim Armstrong, Professor of English.

Depression in adolescents is associated with deficient behavioral and health outcomes (Fletcher, 2019). Art therapy has been shown to be effective in treating mental health condition such as depression. A student’s academic success heavily depends on treating their depression. The Trettor Project: Queer History zine shares LGBTQIA+ history through the photography of selected items from the Jean Nickolaus-Tretter Archive of Queer History. The Tretter Archive is located at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The zine was provided with permission of the artist and publisher Laura Migliorino. An art exhibit of the photographs was exhibited in the Winona State University Darrell W. Krueger Library October 2023 through December 2023.
