Nexus Literary Journal
Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

This catalog features work from an exhibition of artists that were beneficiaries of a regional fellowship program funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Art Department at Wright State University. Artists from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota were invited to submit recent work to apply for the fellowship. The exhibition was held at Wright State University Art Galleries in May of 1979.

The project documented in this catalog were first conceived in early 1978 by Ed Levine, then chairman of the Department of Art and Art History at Wright State University, and Betty Collings, then director of the University Gallery at The Ohio State University in Columbus. Both institutions had, for five years, been sponsoring a variety of exhibitions and experimental projects that probed various aspects of contemporary art. The similarity of goals between the two institutions made this collaborative effort possible.
