Our interactions with and experience within the built environment are mediated by design. Evident in the infrastructure and conventions of modern society, designed experiences perpetuate existing values and construct new values by directing attention and movement in space. One’s sensory awareness of space through mindfulness and perception is integral to uncovering the systems of control that design frequently renders invisible.
