Plactic is the material I chose to communicate my ideas. Named for its ability to be shaped, melted, bent, moulded, and extruded into an infinite number of forms, is one of two reasons I used it. The other is its concept is familiar to modern man and even a definition of him.

To make the communication bridge complete the stulptures are constructed to allow the viewer to take part in the final form. By moving the work, he is as involved in the concept, form, and material as I have been in making the piece.

This study deals with the printmaking technique of embossing to create visual effects with "non-associative" forms. The prints presented deal with the realm of space and an atmosphere unrelated to our present environment or concepts of gravity. Several visual conflicts were achieved by overlapping objects, creating textured surfaces, and varying thickness, size, location, and shape of forms. Serigraphy, spray paint, flocking, and reflective beads were introduced in some of the prints presented in order to enhance the effect of embossing.

For the viewer to become involved with transparent "non-associative" objects was the main objective. The technique was limited to embossing …

Any verbalization of an artistic statement is by its very nature, an inadequate interpretation. However, I feel there is some merit in a concise declaration of my general concepts in the study. This paper represents a summation of the concepts and directions involved in my studio investigation in painting and drawing.

Specifically, it is within the scope of man's altered and effected perception of reality that I have based the studio research.

This paper presents an illustrated brochure on careers in graphic design. The study includes the investigation of the number of possible professions in graphic design, definition of each specific profession, education and training necessary to qualify in each area, and a listing of further sources of information. The study also includes a series of creative visual illustrations to represent each area of graphic design.
