The integral bond that unites the American citizen with the selfless men and women of the Armed Forces will be strengthened through my juxtaposition of uncommonly complementary crafts. “Combat Artist”, featuring high-quality ceramic mugs, unique packaging, pristine painted panels, and kindred graphics will bridge a gap that enhances relationships between these two worlds through a shared love of country and shared culture. Billions of years are past us and billions of years await. Shaping earthen material into sculptural abstractions is my way to sense and convey the lethargic natural progression of the planet. Fossilization, rot, dirt, plant growth, animal existence, and rust are aesthetics I endow with new perspectives and form through mold making and casting. “Our Gang”

The process of scooping up earth with a little blue spoon taught me to dig deeper. My ceramic sculptures of imaginative but vulnerable children begins with close observation and builds a rich visual memory. My memories of my elementary school classmates fused with photographic references provide rich resources for the children in Our Gang.

In my studio I draw the figure out with the bone structure, so I can see how to move the parts without losing the anatomy. Planning and measuring on a pre-made guide for uniformity and precise measurements is important in keeping the size of …
