Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts will host the senior art exhibit of Abbey Fowler, a senior graphic design, mass communications and French triple major from Arkadelphia, Ark., from April 25-May 14 in Hammons Gallery, located in OBU’s Mabee Fine Arts Center. The exhibit is free and open to the public. A reception also will be held Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m.
Fowler’s exhibit, titled “Association,” will showcase an array of works inspired by the various interests in which she was involved throughout her years at Ouachita. The exhibit will focus heavily on graphic design, but also will …

Melanie Herring And Devin Jones To Present Senior Art Exhibits At Ouachita April 4-15, Anna Hurst, Ouachita News Bureau

Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts will host Melanie Herring and Devin Jones’ senior art exhibits April 4-15 in Moses-Provine Hall’s Rosemary Gossett Adams Gallery. Jones’ exhibit will be held on the first floor, and Herring’s exhibit will be on the second floor. Both exhibits are free and open to the public. A reception for both seniors also will be held in the gallery on April 4 at 7 p.m.

Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Visual Arts will host Chrystal Seawood in a guest exhibit, “Boys to Black Men,” Jan. 25-Feb. 26. The exhibit will be held in the university’s Rosemary Gossett Adams Gallery in Moses-Provine Hall and is free and open to the public. A closing reception and artist lecture will be held Feb. 26.
“Boys to Black Men” responds to the highly publicized shooting deaths among unarmed, black males at the hands of police. Seawood surveyed a group of black teen boys from her hometown of Forrest City, Ark., to understand how these national incidents influence the boys’ …

Ouachita Baptist University’s Art Club will host its annual Juried Student Art Exhibit Feb. 1-29 in Ouachita’s Hammons Art Gallery, located in Mabee Fine Arts Center. This year’s juror was John Deering, award-winning cartoonist and illustrator for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Winners will be announced at a reception Feb. 12, 6-7 p.m., in Hammons Gallery. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
