The purpose of this research was to evaluate the performance of commercially available reusable Level 2 isolation gowns over the product’s lifecycle by assessing the ability to protect at an AAMI Level 2. The performance of the gowns was evaluated to determine if they met the required specifications of the AAMI and ASTM standards. Seventy-two commercially available Level 2 reusable gowns from six sample groups were evaluated. The results of testing the barrier and durability performance were compared to the specification of ANSI/AAMI PB70:2012 and ASTM F3352 – 19.
