A typed letter from Ruth Henry addressed to Alfred L. Shoemaker, dated August 26, 1954. Within, Henry encloses a copy of her "Battalion Day" article, originally published in two parts in the "Blairstown Press" of Blairstown, New Jersey, on July 8 and July 15, 1954. The article details the celebration of Battalion Day festivities in the town of Mt. Bethel (Williamsburg) in the year 1847.
