Klotz Associates of Houston, Texas contracted with Tierras Antiguas Archaeological Investigations to conduct a cultural resources survey of 700 linear meters of road right-of-way on the outskirts of the city of Boerne, in Kendall County, Texas. The total Area of Potential Effect is 700 meters long x 45 meters wide, for a total of 7.78 acres. Texas Antiquities Permit #6708 was issued in order to proceed with the archaeological investigations.

The Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) of The University of Texas at San Antonio contracted with the city of Boerne, Texas, to conduct a pedestrian survey with limited shovel and backhoe testing of 103 acres of raw land planned for development as a city park in south Kendall County. The purpose of the survey was to identify archaeological sites visible on the surface and areas with potential for buried sites. Seven prehistoric sites were found and recorded. Very little information is available regarding Site 41KE93. The site is located adjacent to FM 474, approximately 8.7 miles northeast of Boerne, in Kendall County, Texas. It is situated on a small finger of land some 100 meters south of the Guadalupe River at Ammans Crossing and is bordered to the west by Sebinas Creek. Two hearths and a scatter of lithic debris were observed on the surface at the time the site was recorded, but no temporal or cultural indicators have, as yet, been found. In August 1981, the Center for Archaeological Research, The University of Texas at San Antonio, conducted an archaeological survey of power line right-of- ways in Kerr and Kendall Counties for the Bandera Electric Cooperative, Inc. One archaeological site (41 KE 79) was located at the proposed substation site south of Comfort, Texas, and is recommended for additional investigation.

During the summer of 1977, personnel from the Center for Archaeological Research, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), conducted archaeological test excavations at three sites along Frederick Creek in Kendall County, Texas. These sites were located in areas proposed for modification by the construction of Floodwater Retarding Structure #3 in the Upper Cibolo Creek watershed. The field work was conducted under a contract between the Center for Archaeological Research and the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service (Purchase Order No. 40-7442-7-1212).
