Brighter But Not Clearer: Entertainment-Dependent Destinations Dealing With Long Covid, Louis-Etienne Dubois, Frederic Dimanche

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we explored a range of very different possible outcomes for destinations that rely heavily on their entertainment sector (Dubois & Dimanche, 2021). Several months later, this article seeks to revisit those outcomes, while also highlighting the ongoing recovery efforts and evolving strategies of entertainment-dependent destinations (EDDs). Major News From The Swedish Centennial Committee & Upcoming Events
Newsletter of the Jussi Björling Societies of the USA & UK
In a powerful impulse of national pride, H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf has become the official patron of the Jussi Bjorling centennial celebrations. The centennial committee has also gathered in a significant financial contribution from Swedish real estate magnate Stefan Sundh, (coincidentally, Bengt Krantz's cousin), and a sizeable award from Barbro Osher's Pro Suecia Foundation. There were also two smaller private donations. Among the many activities below which are made possible by these donations, the Scandinavian Sallskapet has also made a very large and helpful donation to the JBS-USA CD project (as has the British Society).

Myth And The Paris Commune, Katie Brunner
Myth And The Paris Commune, Katie Brunner
Communication and Theater Association of Minnesota Journal
The Paris Commune of 1871 is an event in history that has had a special place in the hearts of many revolutionaries. Karl Marx called it “the first successful working class revolution”. This paper looks at the events of the Paris Commune, as recounted in a work produced 25 years after the event occurred and, by means of comparison with more recent accounts, examines how it moved from a historical “reality” to a mythic history through the lens of secondary framing and historical mythology. This approach to the Paris Commune reveals many significantly different interpretations; pointing out that the true …

Quaker Studies
This article examines Quaker events for young people and explores the nature of these events through examination of official policies, questionnaires and observation at events. It examines the purposes of Quaker events for young people as described by official policies and by youth work practitioners and examines the significance of these events in the lives of adolescent Quakers. Quaker events for young people are analysed in comparison with the values and principles of 'informal education'. Contrasts are drawn between Quaker events for young people and Christian youth work. This article also explores the nature of faith transmission at Quaker events …
