The magazine is almost finished- forged in the fiery loins of Beadle Hall (erect in 1886). The Editor (Hephaestus) eyes me anxiously. He's waiting for the foreword and is acutely aware of my procrastinating nature. The clock, uncaring of my plight, ticks on.
New Tricks (The Official Magazine of the Literary Stunt Dogs) has risen from the ashes of the Dakotah Poesy. The Poesy was Dakota State's literary magazine from 1986 to 1990. IN 193 I, not quite a year into the Great Depression, Wallace Stevens and his publisher, Alfred A. Knopf, agreed that there ought to be a new edition of his first book, Harmonium (1923). Stevens decided to delete three poems and add fourteen. Most of these "new" poems had indeed been written after Stevens brought the manuscript of his first book to Knopf in December 1922, yet none had been written after 1924.
