The Origin And Original Meaning Of Sacrificial Blood Offerings As Revealed In The Bible And Modern Scriptures, Theo Emory Mckean
The Origin And Original Meaning Of Sacrificial Blood Offerings As Revealed In The Bible And Modern Scriptures, Theo Emory Mckean
Theses and Dissertations
This study is concerned with the origin and original meaning of sacrificial blood offerings as practiced by the ancient Israelite people and their progenitors. "Modern" scriptural sources including the Pearl of Great Price, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants are used along with the Bible as the basic reference material.
The lack of explicit information in the Bible as to the inception and meaning of sacrifice has resulted in the development of many theories which suggest that this rite had a human beginning. These theories imply that by natural expression man began to seek favor from his …

The Contribution Of Medical Women During The First Fifty Years In Utah, Keith Calvin Terry
The Contribution Of Medical Women During The First Fifty Years In Utah, Keith Calvin Terry
Theses and Dissertations
This is the history of those noble women who came into the territory, struggling to relieve the burden of poor medical service. This is an account of how well or how poorly they conducted the art of midwifery. From the first year the pioneers entered the region in 1847, down to 1896 when statehood was achieved, though there were male physicians in the field of medicine, Utah depended on its women. This is a study of their contribution.
The Use Of Photographs As A Performance Measure Of Personality Rigidity, Edgar Allen Smith
The Use Of Photographs As A Performance Measure Of Personality Rigidity, Edgar Allen Smith
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
The literature on rigidity reveals a concentration in two fairly distinct areas: that of problem solving for cognitive rigidity) and motor rigidity. The early investigators felt that assessing these peripheral response mechanism would give a measure of the deeper, central personality mechanism that affects all of behavior. However, such an assumption was highly questionable and based more on analogical reasoning than on empirical evidence. It was Cattel who first pointed out that assuming motor rigidity "extends also through all dissappontement to feel or think perseveratively is a speculation undertaken at one's own risk" (1946, p. 233). Luchins (1951), concerned with …
A Study Of The Attitude Of The Latter-Day Saint Church, In The Territory Of Utah, Toward Slavery As It Pertained To The Indian As Well As To The Negro From 1847 To 1865, Roldo V. Dutson
Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to recognize the position of slavery as it pertained especially to the Negro in the Territory of Utah from 1847 to 1865, and the position of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints toward Indian slavery found in those tribes living within the boundary of the Utah Territory. Negro slavery was accepted and tolerated by the Latter-day Saints even though there were but few Negroes in the Territory. These were brought in by a few southern Saints.
George Romney And The Michigan Gubernatorial Compaign - 1962, Richard C. Fuller
George Romney And The Michigan Gubernatorial Compaign - 1962, Richard C. Fuller
Theses and Dissertations
Politics in Michigan had been on a low plane for a number of years. The troubles were many and their roots could be found deep in the structure of the state's government.
In April of 1959, the sagging governmental structure gave way to the extent that the state was unable to meet its payroll. The result was the much publicized "Payless Pay Day" which attracted national and international interest.
Seeing that their elected officials were seemingly powerless to correct even the basic flaws in Michigan's government, many of the state's leading business and industrial leaders decided to apply their considerable …
