Christian Perspectives in Education
The gospel message of Jesus Christ found in the New Testament requires the learner to believe in God, not as a result of works, but on a foundation of faith. In order to preach the principles of the kingdom of heaven effectively in a way the people could understand, Jesus employed teaching methodologies in the Gospel of Matthew that can be framed in the 5Es of constructivism and can be an example for educators today.

The Online Language Learning Environment: New Roles For The Humanist, James S. Noblitt

Thomas Edison played an important role in improving the technologies needed for the telephone. He was said to have been excited about the educational potential of the new instrument and speculated that it would soon be found in every classroom.
Well, he was right about the educational potential of information and communication technology, but he was wrong about the form the new technology would take.
This chapter raises questions concerning the role humanists will play in determining the development and implementation of information and communication technologies for educational purposes.

In 1976, the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR) began sending American college students to Russia for advanced training in Russian language and literature. The original ACTR program was open to qualified students from any U. S. institution and represented one of the very few opportunities available to American students, graduate students, or faculty to pursue advanced language training in Russia, in this case, the newly established A. S. Pushkin Institute of the Russian Language in Moscow. Admission to the program was competitive, and, in practice, the ACTR program accepted for the most part graduate students and immediate-post BA …

This paper, an assignment for Chris Madden's Writing 105 Class, asked us to write about a time or event which caused us to change our minds about something important to us. I thought that there couldn't be a better change for me to write about than the one that seemed to be culminating at that moment. We were asked to explain and contextualize our original belief, identify how our ideas had changed, and account for the process of re-thinking. Writing Queen Anne's Lace was quite a release, and the experience has left me fascinated with the power of writing to …

Christian education means telling the story of God's mighty acts in such a way that the listener participates in the dialog and comes into an engagement with God in his daily life. He is reborn daily with Christ, and therefore he sees the meaning of life in a new way as he lives in community as a Christian in the world.
