This report covers two internships I undertook from July to September 2020 and October 2020 to February 2021: respectively, a website design internship with MikonoYetu and Western Heads East and a promotional internship with the Single Women in Motherhood Training Program, or S.W.I.M. It discusses the duties I undertook on a team of other interns, the hard and soft skills I developed by branching out into fields I would not have on my own, the implications for my future career path, and the relevance of my SASAH education. In her report, Amelia discusses the tasks she undertook for her two projects: the North Meets South Exchange offered by the Jr. Economic Club of Canada and The Walrus Magazine Digital Editorial Internship. She touches on the application process for each program, reviews the nature and mission of each organization, and detail what her expectations were for each program and what the reality turned out to be. The following paper deals with reflecting on two different community-engaged-learning experiences, offered through Western University, that I had the privilege of completing during my final year. The first experience was working for Centre Marembo, an NGO in Kigali, Rwanda that specializes in the rehabilitation and education of abused girls. The second was assisting in writing a compilation of biographical stories for Single Women in Motherhood, a local London organization that aims to help single mothers succeed.
