Present Emphases In Christian Education, Burt E. Coody
Graduate Thesis Collection
Because of the enormity of the field [Christian education] and in order to be very specific the subject matter will be confined to the curricula of the Sunday Church Schools. More specifically, the aim is to examine the present-day emphases that are to be found in the curricula of Christian education and to offer suggestions for the blending of these emphases that will add to the force and effectiveness of the great job already being done in this area of Christian education.

The Relevance Of The Ecumenical Movement Of The New Testament Church, Robert E. Black

In this dissertation we are not only converned in studying the development of the ecumenical movement, but our attention will also be focused upon this question, "In what particulars in the ecumenical movement relevant to the New Testament Church?" The United Church Of Christ In Japan: An Analysis Of The Background Of And Trends Toward Unity In Religion And State Resulting In The Creation Of The United Protestant Church In Japan, Earl Van Best
Graduate Thesis Collection
This thesis is a limited expression of many years of interest in and love for the Kingdom of God in Japan. It is offered as a lay critique of the bases from which have developed trends toward unity in state and religion. It has been difficult not to descend to the level of a biased judge on the one hand or to scale the heights of the prophet on the other-, what with the alarming amount of misinformation available suggestive of the possibility of dramatic pronouncements based on half-truths. The Clan System, Shrine worship, war records, and the supposed reasons …
Aspects Of The Oecumenical Dilemna, William G. Baker
Aspects Of The Oecumenical Dilemna, William G. Baker
Graduate Thesis Collection
Views of the oecumenical movement range from an enthusiastic, if often shallow optimism, to a cautious, and sometimes bitter, suspicion. The thesis which I venture to offer is that only a radical emproach to oecumenicity can enable us to understand what is happening in this moment of Church history. Such a radical approach demands that we seek to understand the nature of human existence, the nature of the Church, and the nature of unitive activity within the Church.

The Place Of The Tithe In New Testament Stewardship, Richard Edward Banks

This thesis on The Place of the Tithe in New Testament Stewardship is written for the purpose of showing the demand for new standards of Christian Stewardship in the church, and for new application of the divine and unchanging standards of giving as well as living and serving. The challenge to "give"and "save" and "serve" meets us on every hand. A Study Of Paul's Mystical Experiences, Carl Franklin Andry
A Study Of Paul's Mystical Experiences, Carl Franklin Andry
Graduate Thesis Collection
Mysticism is the most distinctive characteristic of religion. It is considered by many religious thinkers to be the essential of religion. All religion, in order to be religion, is and must be, at least partly, mystical. Yet in spite of its great importance in religion, mysticism suffers from much confusion. Great mystics eloquently describe their mystical experiences they write volume upon volume about them. And after reading what they have to say, we are forced to ask ourselves, "What is mysticism?" Why so much confusion? If mysticism has anything of value to contribute to the world, it must be more …
