The Uzbek people have a very rich, worthy ancient history. The discoveries by many scientists and archaeologists of our country confirm the huge contribution of Central Asia to the development of human beings. During very long years of historical development, many great scientists in the fields of science, culture and art came out among our people. They have gratefully served for the progress of mankind. In this way, they raised the status of the nations of the East. Oriental scholars in their musical brochures, tried to comment not only on the musical-theoretical and practical sciences of the East, but also …

Digital Humanities At Cuny. Building Communities Of Practice In The Public University, Stefano Morello
Publications and Research
In this essay, I reflect on my experience working in the field of Digital Humanities at The Graduate Center (GC) of the City University of New York (CUNY) to refute the misconception that the point of intersection of humanities and computation is dependent on robust technological infrastructure and, therefore, outside of the reach of underfunded public institutions. On the contrary, my tenure as a GC Digital Fellow suggests that the development of DH communities of practice can be an especially valuable asset for public universities, due to the waterfall effect they can produce for both the academic and the local …

Deported Veterans: The Unintended Consequences Of “Good Moral Character”, Jonathan Deras
Master's Theses
The purpose of this research is to argue that U.S. immigration policy, specifically the 1996 IIRIRA (also known as IIRAIRA), needs to change regarding the legal treatment of immigrant U.S. military veteran deportees due to the following concepts. A key concept in this analysis is the standard of “good moral character” set by the U.S. government that enlistees need to meet to be accepted into the military; this standard is also used against immigrant veterans during …
