A presentation that traces the evolution of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, or the Moon Festival with regard to the elements that were added to the myth of the moon fairy and other elements needed for the celebration of the festival such as the moon cake and examines the differences between the Western and Chinese view of and attitude toward the Moon in history through English and Chinese literature.

During the week of January 7-14, 2010, Molly Calico and Jordan Norris participated in the Impact Belize program through the College of Health and Human Services. This program took place in Gales Point, a rural, underserved community in Belize. Impact students provided medical, dental and public health services to the community in an interdisciplinary service-learning format. As Master of Public Health students, Molly and Jordan directed health education initiatives and served on the Leadership Team for the program. The professional counselor can describe the similarities and differences between spirituality and religion, including the basic beliefs of various spiritual systems, major world religions, agnosticism and atheism. The professional counselor recognizes that the client's beliefs (or absence of beliefs) about spirituality and/or religion are central to his or her worldview and can influence psychosocial functioning.

A Hybrid Curriculum Of Private And Group Lessons For College Clarinet & Saxophone Studio Instruction, John M. Cipolla

This model of teaching presents a curriculum that blends traditional one-on-one private college studio instruction on the clarinet and saxophone with small group lessons. Each student receives a weekly forty-minute private lesson and a twenty-minute group lesson. This hybrid model of teaching is an approach that, for the administrator, (1) increases student credit hour production because more students can be taught in fewer hours (2) addresses the increasing state pressure to reduce degree credit hours by including chamber music in the studio curriculum (3) supports retention efforts by helping freshmen acclimate to college through camaraderie developed in groups. Searching For Binding Partners For The Novel Phkg1 Variant, Phkγ 181, Kishore Polireddy

Phopshorylase kinase (PhK) is a hexadecameric holoenzyme made up of four different subunits in the arrangement (αβγδ)4 and has total molecular mass of 1.3MDa. Alpha and β are regulatory subunits, γ is catalytic, and δ is an intrinsic molecule of calmodulin. PhK is a serine threonine kinase with glycogenolytic regulatory functions. Our lab has recently discovered that the γ subunit can be alternatively processed to produce a truncated form of 181 residues (γ-181). This variant of γ contains a phosphorylation site for PK-C, and its activity is influenced by this phosphorylation. We are using a LexA based yeast two hybrid …

This presentation explores the life and work of Duncan Hines from his days growing up in Warren County, Kentucky, through his career as a travel writer, and finally to his rise as a brand name in the world of packaged goods. The authors investigated the use of proactive pessimism among college basketball fans. Rather than assess evaluations of an upcoming season as with previous work on proactive pessimism among fans, Grieve and Wann examined evaluations of a specific game.
