As a precedent, The Green Team analyzed the history of glass architecture, literature, and culture. Based on our research, we found that glass is often depicted as breakable, delicate, and a way to expose or display aspects that would otherwise be hidden. We challenged ourselves to incorporate safety and privacy into our glass house as a way to combat the pre-existing notions of glass in architecture.

My team and I were chosen to go to a village in Bangalore, India, where we dug and poured home foundations for three families in need. Transcend: A Thin-Shell Japanese Onsen Experience, James Douglas Blanchard, Nicholas Michael Horaney, Hunter Thomas Mosier, Lillian Cao, Cory Peterman
Architectural Engineering
This project is an interdisciplinary architectural design of a funicular Japanese onsen utilizing the compressive strength of thin-shell concrete. A section of this project was also built to scale on the Cal Poly campus in the Architectural Engineering department's High Bay facility. This project was designed utilizing Rhinoceros and analyzed using SAP 2000 19.
