This project is an exploration on building environmental performance. On it we will use different advanced simulation tools like DesignBuilder and Climate Consultant to analyze a recommended building. We are focusing on the Mamakating Visitor Center in Sullivan County, New York as our case study. Our first studies included analyzing the site conditions and elements such as wind, sun, climate, and weather. We studied the environment surrounding the building and its climate using the two software mentioned above. We found that during the winter, we should block the wind and get more sun in. Since 2016 the BIM Innovation Capability Programme (BICP) has captured the capability of the Irish Construction Industry’s and the Higher Education Institutes’ (HEIs) response to the increased requirement for BIM on Irish construction and engineering projects. One of the primary responsibilities of the BICP research team is to collate data to assist the National BIM Council of Ireland in the formulation of a National BIM Roadmap. LCC has a number of relevant applications, these include project appraisal; facilities management; procurement and tendering and as a means to evaluate sustainable construction. The number of buildings seeking LEED certification has been growing steadily over the past few years. In this study, three academic buildings which were designed and built to LEED certification standards were targeted in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Their electricity consumption and cost effectiveness were examined and compared with predesigned LEED efficiency models of those three buildings. This research directly examined cost effectiveness of LEED buildings in terms of electricity usage. From the professionals’ perceptions, the current study infers the current status of lean-manufacturing implementation in the thermoplastic-manufacturing industry and identifies the best lean theories and tools for the industry. However, the results of the current study are not generalizable to the entire thermoplastic-manufacturing industry.

The Rapidly Deployable and Assembled Tensegrity (RDAT) project enables the efficient automated design and deployment of differential-geometry tensegrity structures through computation-driven design-to-installation workflow. RDAT employs the integration of parametric and solid-modeling methods with production by streamlining computer numerically controlled manufacturing through novel detailing and production techniques to develop an efficient manufacturing and assembly system. The RDAT project emerges from the Authors' research in academia and professional practice focusing on computationally produced full-scale performative building systems and their innovative uses in the building and construction industry.
