The Sacred Departments For Temple Work In Nauvoo: The Assembly Room And The Council Chamber, Lisle G. Brown
Lisle G Brown
The paper examines the physical layout of two rooms, one in the upper floor Joseph Smith's store, and the other in the attic of the Nauvoo Temple, for administering what is called the Mormon temple endowment. In both cases only temporary modifications were made to the interior rooms, using canvas partitions which were later removed. The text describes the appearance and arrangement of these modified interior spaces, based on contemporary historical sources, because the original buildings were completely destroyed during the 1800s.

The intention of this study is to highlight the importance of garden in creating national landscape identity. Accordingly, like other artistic artefacts, they can be studied and recognized by their specific icons. This is very true for a number of well-known gardens in the world, like Persian, English, Japanese and Chinese gardens, which are recognized through their individual icons. However, emerging gardens still do not possess any icons that people can identify them with. Consequently, there is a need for these gardens …

The primary goal of retail environments is to stimulate positive behavior from consumers viewing the fulfilled plan of the designer or architect. This study explores the influence of the consumer trait, visual aesthetic sensitivity, upon the visual aesthetic design features of the store environment and consumer behavior. Treatment of the visual aesthetic design features of the retail environment as an integrated, holistic arrangement demonstrate the dynamic interrelation of the environment and perception as explained by Gestalt theory. Data was collected through traditional survey techniques. Statistical analyses using exploratory factor analysis, ANCOVA, and MANCOVA reveal distinct differences between consumers with high …

The reputation of attorneys has steadily declined over the last 50 years. How can we determine why this has occurred? Given the relatively high reputation of British Barristers, a comparison of US and British court room arrangement and practice may provide some clues, and the heuristic of "critical spatial studies" provides a methodology.
