Finding aid only of Folklife Archives Project 1179. Student paper titled “The Lucas Homestead: A Study ofTraditional Farm Structures” in which Martha Spinks investigatesthe origins and functions of a Sand Hill farm owned by HerschelLucas in Warren County, Kentucky. The structure, which was constructed by Luther Parrish in 1820, began as a single-pen log cabin; however, additional units, such as a smoke house, storage rooms, bedrooms, and a chimney, were built by succeeding owners.
