Master Plan And Prototype Research Facility For The University Of New Mexico Research Park, Sam H. Robinson Jr.
Architecture and Planning ETDs
Since great emphasis is now being placed on developing our nation's scientific and technical capabilities, many universities are establishing closer liaison with private industry by inviting companies to locate on or near their campuses. This is not solely an effort by universities, for industry, too, finds it to its advantage to locate in proximity to educational institution. Their are a number of reasons why university-industry relationships are growing, but of most importance is the fact that both hav e recognized the benefits to be gained through an exchange of knowledge, personnel, and equipment

A Basic Educational Television Station, Norman D. Noonan
Architecture and Planning ETDs
The neglect of television in general by the architectural profession is shocking, yet understandable. It has only learned recently that TV and especially E.T.V. has come into its own and that the architectural profession has opened its doors to include TV stations. Thus, for my thesis, I have decided to design a "basic" TV station, which theoretically could be used by universities, school systems, and communities throughout the western United States.

Transit Connector: A Study Of Cargo Terminals For United States Shipping Lines, Inc., William H. Cary
Architecture and Planning ETDs
The most costly factor in modern shipping is the quantity of time involved in the discharging and loading of cargo. The earning capacity of a ship depends largely on the rapidity of its turn-around or the number of voyages it can make in a year, and the turn-around can be increased to a large extent only by preventing delay in port. For a successful operation the ship's time in port must be as brief as possible. Whether at sea or in port, all the major items of expense, with the exception of fuel consumption, continue day in and out. Major …

Proposed Air Freight Facilities For Albuquerque, New Mexico, Josue Martinez
Architecture and Planning ETDs
Many citizens of Albuquerque, New Mexico, recognize the significant development that has taken place in their community since World War II. While this progress is commendable, it should be further recognized that nearly all activity has been initiated and contained by the Federal Government. In a study done by the Fourth-Year Architecture Design class of 1966, information collected suggests that Albuquerque can continue to lead in research and development as its primary industry.

A Case Study In Light Industrial Buildings, Michael L. Norton
A Case Study In Light Industrial Buildings, Michael L. Norton
Architecture and Planning ETDs
The title of this thesis is "A Case Study in Light Industrial Buildings." After research in this area I am more convinced than ever that such a study is needed. The single building that represents most of today's monuments is no longer solving the problem that arises in a complex society. We as architects are no longer as naive to think that form alone can solve the challenges of the 21st century. A philosopher a few years ago said we were in an era of analysis aid that the next era would be that of suspended judgement. These qualities of …
