Navigating Through Sex Business Regulation: A Case Study Of Crime Statistics, Kristina Marie Heredia, Enid Arvidson

The world of sex business regulation can be muddled and confusing. In the past, cities banned sexually-oriented businesses (SOBs) on the basis that they were morally bankrupt and obscene. Courts have ruled that the First Amendment bars cities from regulating these businesses based on the content of the business, and therefore cities have found a way to regulate SOBs based on real or perceived negative effects that SOBs bring to the surrounding community. These negative effects are called secondary effects and their existence has been recently called into question. This report goes over the history of SOB regulations, studies that …

Design work from the 1995 fall semester, Studio Martin Price, School of Architecture, The University of Texas at Arlington. Concert Hall. Per Johan Dahl. The large scale of the project is reduced by spiraling it into the ground and weaving it into the scale of the surrounding Fort Worth urban fabric. This provides for a more comfortable descent into the entry. Color is used to articulate and enhance a sense of movement through a gradation of warm color at the entrance to cool color inside the hall. Design work from the 1990 fall semester, Studio Martin Price, School of Architecture, The University of Texas at Arlington. Ecology Museum. Kathleen Korba. An area of magnificent natural surroundings in the northwestern area of Fort Worth is the location for the museum. The principal feature is the exterior path that traverses the site as a hollowed-out section of land, making it one with the land. The retaining walls form the facades of the exhibition and ancillary spaces of the museum.
