This paper is a case study of an urban agriculture operation in Aurora, Colorado that focuses on providing refugees with food and work that contributes to a sense of community connectedness and pride. The paper is also a proposal for a high tunnel system that could extend the growing season of the farm and provide unique opportunities for urban farmers to learn about emerging resiliency based food production practices.

There is great potential within the City of Riverside to increase the number of pedestrians and bicyclists. Currently, the largest barrier to this increase is user fear for health and safety. The geographic location of Riverside, which funnels pollutants from the Greater Los Angeles Area into the region, contributes to the region having very few good air days. This creates a barrier between those who potentially would walk or bike from actually doing so due to health risks.

ARCE 401 Fire Protection is a class that will finally give ARCE students an introduction to fire-resilience and its major importance in the structural and planning spheres. The class would have a structural emphasis along with interdisciplinary qualities, unlike the graduate classes offered in the CE and ME departments.
