Frederic Lindley Morgan, a major architect in Louisville,Kentucky, was born in Loda,Illinois in 1889. Morgan, in partnerships with other architects throughout his career, designed a variety of projects including homes, schools, churches, commercial buildings and even an airport. Morgan worked up until he died, in 1970, in Louisville. What makes Mr.Morgan's work distinctive is not the timelessness of his designs, nor the fact he was dubbed "Louisville's society architect," nor his lengthy 50 plus year career. In October of 1930, Columbus Marion Joiner’s oil rig, “Daisy Bradford No. 3,” blew a gusher of oil high into the East Texas sky. The subsequent storm of economic activity that resulted from the discovery of the East Texas oilfield irrevocably changed the built environment of many small towns in the region, including Gladewater, Texas. Oil money that flowed into the city funded a flurry of building projects in the 1930s and 1940s that left an indelible mark on the landscape of Gladewater’s downtown area. This work shows that combining the techniques of neural networking and predictive analytics with the fundamental concepts of computing performance optimization is genuine in many ways. It has the potentials to: (1) reduce infrastructure upgrade costs (2) reduce human interactions, by enabling the system to learn, analyze, and make decisions on its own, and (3) generalize the solutions to other performance problems. This thesis is an investigation of the mosaics developed for Ciudad Universitaria (CU) and the monumental shift in the Mexican mural movement they initiated. It is broken into four chapters each of which examine the works of one of the four major Mexican artists: David Alfaro Siqueiros, Diego Rivera, Juan O’Gorman and José Chávez Morado commissioned to develop mosaics for CU in the early 1950s. It emphasizes the differences in the artists’ ideologies and experiences which led each to develop an individual understanding of plastic integration and the ways in which those ideas manifest themselves in the campus mosaics. This study is designed to address the need for having a measure for Construction Performance on BIM-assisted construction projects. Through this study a new Construction Key Performance Indicator (CKPI) matrix is identified and created by the author. The CKPI could be used to assess BIM-assisted projects. Utilizing a sequential mixed methodology approach, academic and practitioner perspectives are assessed. A qualitative content analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis based on demographics are conducted to establish a better understanding of BIM and Construction Performance.
