Future Water Demand In Cache Valley, Utah, Chris C. Saunders

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

The present investigation examined the current water demand characteristics and the future water demand of Cache Valley, Utah for the time period of 1990-2010. Three different scenarios were calculated for residential demand to represent different sources and composition of demand information. It was determined that consideration of water demand data excluding Logan City provided the best statistical description of water demand. …

Networking High-End Cad Systems Based On Pc/Ms-Dos Platforms, Dagmar Antje Brinkmann Jan 1993

Networking High-End Cad Systems Based On Pc/Ms-Dos Platforms, Dagmar Antje Brinkmann

Theses

The concept of today's technology has been dropped. Everything is now either oobsolete or experimental. Yesterday's technology is appealing only because it is tried-and-true and prices are reduced for clearance. Tomorrow's technology is exciting, somewhat expensive and not well tested.

In the field of architecture, where most firms are medium or small, having limited resources, the high cost initially required for a CAD installation was generally impossible to meet not too many years ago.

From spreadsheets and CAD graphics to network file systems and distributed database management, the basic systems and application tools have matured to the point that the …

Urban Regimes And Downtown Planning In Portland, Oregon And Seattle, Washington, 1972-1992, Mark Richard Bello

Dissertations and Theses

Portland and Seattle are often considered to be divergent in character, partly because civic leadership in each city has a different vision. The adoption of contrasting downtown core plans, projects, and policies in each city allows us an opportunity to understand the nature of each city's regime. As defined by Elkin, an urban regime is the community's governing coalition, those who exercise public authority in a legal sense and those private actors able to act collectively and bring concerted influence to bear.

The time frame for this study begins with the first modern planning document, the 1972 City of Portland …
