An accurate bathymetric survey is a principal issue in dredging projects because it has a direct impact on the estimated dredging quantities, project process and cost. In this research, various factors affecting the accuracy of bathymetric survey and hence dredging volume quantities have been investigated. The data obtained from single-beam echo sounder surveys after the deepening and widening of Great Bitter Lakes in the New Suez Canal project, which was recently carried out in Egypt, have been used.
