A Study Of The Planned Unit Development And Its Application To A Site In Cache Valley, Margaret Ann Mullins

The thesis proposed deals with the design of a Planned Unit Development on a site located in Cache Valley. Included in the study is research of existing PUDs, determining the aspects in which they are successful and those in which they are unsuccessful. Analysis of a site with respect to physical characteristics and aesthetic characteristics will be undertaken with previously compiled data. Thirdly, the given program will be analyzed with respect to the land uses included and their compatibility to the site. Americans across the nation are showing an increased awareness of the problems caused by the rapid and uncontrolled growth our country has undergone over the last fifty years. It is apparent to most that we can no longer abuse our natural resources as if they were inexhaustable. In the last few years, there has been a specific concern for prices, consumption, and energy conservation. These real concerns are moving us towards a reconsideration of our living habits that will certainly affect the future of residential planning and site design.

The purpose of this study is to delineate the role of a Utah State comprehensive health planning agency in environmental health planning. The scope and nature of environmental health planning was researched thus defining the data base.
