In collaboration with Journeyman International and Empowering Villages this project includes the structural drawings and calculations for a community center located in a rural part of Kilimbi, Rwanda. The structural systems utilized include conventional wood framing, wood framed trusses, special concrete moment frames, special concrete cantilevered columns, conventional continuous foundations, pad footings and a slab on grade. The goal of this project is to promote a healthy community dynamic by providing spaces for assembly, social programs, skills training, and recreation. It includes classrooms, a library, and outdoor learning areas.

The Mòn Briyè Primary School is a JI project led and funded by The 610 Project, an Alabama-based non-profit organization dedicated to the sustainable success of developing Haitian communities through education. By partnering with non-profit organizations such as Journeyman International and Empowering Villages, undergraduate students can engage in senior projects that have far reaching humanitarian impacts. Journeyman International is well known for creating powerful teams of students who tackle design challenges in developing countries. The Amoveo Group in collaboration with Mission TwentyFive35 focuses on the northern region of the Dominican Republic, “El Cibao”, to share the Gospel and plant churches by implementing a sustainable solution that addresses the community’s four needs. Mission TwentyFive35 identifies the lack of clean water, food sustainability shortcomings, limited access to primary healthcare and education, and the absence of technical and vocational job training as the primary contributors to these extremely impoverished communities.

Tia Ana’s Sustainable Development is located in the El Salvadorian countryside, just outside of the capital city San Salvador. Currently, Tia Ana’s is located in the city of San Salvador, where there is little room for the children and a significant amount of violence and instability. In order to make the relocation of the orphanage feasible financially, a portion of the countryside landscape will contain a small hotel and numerous small dwellings nested in the tropical surroundings.
