Set in India, this novel follows the narrator, sixteen-year-old Asha Mehtani, in her two-year struggle to decide between following tradition and following her own desires. This study examines the anxiety level of deaf high school students about their future education and careers upon graduating from high school at Anusamsunthorn School for the Deaf, Chiang Mai province, Thailand. The purpose of this pilot study is to explore levels of anxiety in deaf high school students about their future upon graduating from high school in both the deaf students who plan to work and those who plan to continue study. The main aim of this research was to identify what was required to optimise professional development for the academic staff of Liberties College, a college in the further education sector. This research was a case study, focusing on the micro, one case on one site, with the emphasis on understanding the unity and the wholeness of this particular case. The theoretical perspective applied therefore, was constructionist and the research methods interpretive in design.
