Contract Reports--KGS
The Summit 7.5-minute quadrangle is located south of Louisville and west of Elizabethtown along the boundary between Hardin and Grayson Counties and within the Mississippian Plateau physiographic region (McDowell, 1986). Topography is characterized by the low relief Pennyroyal region that sits at elevations between 560 to 650 ft above sea level, the low relief Mammoth Cave plateau at elevations between 750 to 900 ft, and the steep Dripping Springs escarpment that separates the two plains. Moore (1964) mapped the bedrock geology of the quadrangle, which was later digitized by Conley (2002). Mississippian bedrock is exposed throughout the quadrangle and is …

Modeling Dynamics Of Ozone And Nitrogen Oxides At Summit, Greenland With A 1-D Process-Scale Model, Keenan Anton Murray
Dissertations, Master's Theses and Master's Reports - Open
This work presents a 1-D process scale model used to investigate the chemical dynamics and temporal variability of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and ozone (O3) within and above snowpack at Summit, Greenland for March-May 2009 and estimates surface exchange of NOx between the snowpack and surface layer in April-May 2009. The model assumes the surface of snowflakes have a Liquid Like Layer (LLL) where aqueous chemistry occurs and interacts with the interstitial air of the snowpack. Model parameters and initialization are physically and chemically representative of snowpack at Summit, Greenland and model results are compared to …

Was The Copenhagen Summit Doomed From The Start? Some Insights From Green Is Research, Helen M. Hasan, C Dwyer

At the 2009 Copenhagen Summit on Climate Change, COP15, so many contradictory demands were apparent that it is doubtful whether it produced many useful outcomes. In this paper we question whether it, and summits like it, may be inherently doomed to fall short of expectations. With its experience of the intrinsic contradictions within socio-technical systems, the Information System’s profession may provide some insights into complex issues such as climate change. IS research has often demonstrated that imposed top-down solutions rarely provide the most promising way to approach highly complex problems. On the other hand, bottom-up emergent processes, though less politically …

Reservoir Analysis Of The Clinton Interval In Stark And Summit Counties, Ohio, Dominick Andrew Wytovich
Browse all Theses and Dissertations
The characteristics of a sandstone reservoir of Silurian age (the "Clinton interval") were analyzed using 382 geophysical well logs from the Dominion Gas storage field located in Stark and Summit Counties, Ohio. These sandstones have long been identified by the informal drillers' terms, White, Red, and Stray Clinton. Gamma ray logs were used to analyze the distribution of net stand thickness and its relation to initial production through the construction of isopach and net sand isolith maps. I constructed eight cross sections to identify and correlate the tops of three prominent sandstones and two marine flooding surfaces to evaluate reservoir …

A Transverse Fault In An Extended Terrane, The Currant Summit Fault, Nevada, Nathan David Williams
UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations
Transverse faults in extensional terranes strike parallel to subparallel to the extension direction, are laterally continuous, and terminate abruptly. Problems of transverse faults are addressed by analysis of the Currant Summit fault, an east-west striking fault in east-central Nevada; Mapping of rock units and structures allowed determination of the net slip along the Currant Summit fault. The slip was calculated from an offset anticlinal hinge. Motion is normal-left oblique with horizontal offset of 3300 m, throw of 1950 m and heave of 70 m. Geometric calculations and field data constrain the fault dip to ∼87° N; The name oblique-slip barrier …

Optimal Exploitation Of Petroleum Resources Using The Average Reservoir Data For The Walton Canyon Reservoir In Summit County, Utah, Behrouz Helmi-Oskoui
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
The main concern of this study is to obtain an optimal time path of crude oil and natural gas production by controlling the pressure at the bottom of any producing well in Walton Canyon Reservoir. To achieve this goal, the following objectives were obtained: (a) an estimation of the reservoir properties at different levels of the reservoir pressure; (b) an estimation of an optimal time path of joint production using the estimated reservoir properties and the expected prices and costs in the absence and presence of severance, state, and federal income taxes, and depletion of allowances; and (c) an analysis …
