Rhetorical Demagoguery: An Exploration Of Trump’S And Hitler’S Rise To Power, Tanner Horne
Rhetorical Demagoguery: An Exploration Of Trump’S And Hitler’S Rise To Power, Tanner Horne
Undergraduate Honors Theses
While many scholars have examined the rhetoric of President Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler individually, there is a void of scholarly work that highlights the similarities between the two leaders’ use of grandiloquent language to stoke the passions of their perspective nations. In the past one hundred years, rhetoric and propaganda have been employed to push political agendas that are divisive and dangerous. Trump’s incendiary vocabulary–“enemy of the people,” “vermin,” “retribution,” etc., employed frequently throughout his campaign and presidency, in many ways echoes Hitler's speeches and declarations. While their political strategies ultimately differed greatly, a close analysis of their speeches, …

Comparison Of Aia And Fidic Construction Contracts With An Equivalent Egyptian Contract, Khaled Abdulhalem Al Bayomi
Journal of Engineering Research
Precisely drafting the infrastructure construction contract is a way to ensure the success and continuity of the project without any complications, and through which the rights and duties of each party involved in the project are determined. International standard contract conditions such as FIDIC and AIA contribute significantly to reducing disputes between the parties; yet, due to the absence of a standard construction contract in Egypt, the infrastructure construction industry became more complicated in recent years and contractual commitments are often not carried out in a good faith. This research aims to highlight the major causes of contractual conflicts that …

A Comparison Of Student Final Grades In College Algebra Based On Face-To-Face And Online Course Modalities, Christopher Michael Lafata
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
As community colleges emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic there may be a tendency to rely on technology to facilitate more online coursework. Online education has been a fixture of higher education since the mid-1990s, but there’s always been a question as to whether it is effective as traditional, face-to-face coursework. This is especially important in College Algebra, already viewed as a barrier course for many students. If more students take College Algebra online, will the results be as good as students taking the course in a classroom? The purpose of this quantitative causal-comparative study is to identify the relationship between …

Identifying the literature that already exists with published studies regarding the position, comparison of the position to baseball, and a breakdown of the phases of the throwing motion will be the focus of this analysis.
On Equivalence Of Anomaly Detection Algorithms, Carlos Ivan Jerez, Jun Zhang, Marcia R. Silva
On Equivalence Of Anomaly Detection Algorithms, Carlos Ivan Jerez, Jun Zhang, Marcia R. Silva
Computer Science Faculty Articles
In most domains anomaly detection is typically cast as an unsupervised learning problem because of the infeasability of labelling large datasets. In this setup, the evaluation and comparison of different anomaly detection algorithms is difficult. Although some work has been published in this field, they fail to account that different algorithms can detect different kinds of anomalies. More precisely, the literature on this topic has focused on defining criteria to determine which algorithm is better, while ignoring the fact that such criteria are meaningful only if the algorithms being compared are detecting the same kind of anomalies. Therefore, in this …

Comparative Study Of Snort 3 And Suricata Intrusion Detection Systems, Cole Hoover
Computer Science and Computer Engineering Undergraduate Honors Theses
Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) are one layer of defense that can be used to protect a network from cyber-attacks. They monitor a network for any malicious activity and send alerts if suspicious traffic is detected. Two of the most common open-source NIDS are Snort and Suricata. Snort was first released in 1999 and became the industry standard. The one major drawback of Snort has been its single-threaded architecture. Because of this, Suricata was released in 2009 and uses a multithreaded architecture. Snort released Snort 3 last year with major improvements from earlier versions, including implementing a new multithreaded architecture …

Two Cemeteries In One: An Historic Archaeological Analysis Of The Cemeteries That Comprise Today’S Liberty Cemetery In Trevor, Wisconsin, Sydne Morgan Johnson
Theses and Dissertations
This thesis is an historic archaeological comparison of the two cemeteries that comprise today’s Liberty Cemetery in Kenosha County, Wisconsin: the Old Cemetery (1844-1883) and the New (1885-1924). Salem, Wisconsin’s first settlers arrived in the 1830s, and shortly thereafter some began burying their dead at a place called Liberty Corners. The burial grounds continued to grow, and within a few years, the church across the street began overseeing it. The church transferred the graveyard to a private organization in 1884, and that group mixed a new cemetery—called Liberty Cemetery—into the same grounds as the old one. This thesis compares these …
Comparison Of Injuries To The Anterior Cruciate Ligament In Male Soccer And Football Athletes And The Effect Of Varying Rehabilitation On Recovery Time, Matthew Moraw
Undergraduate Honors Thesis Collection
Injuries are commonplace when a sport involves high levels of physical contact and quick movements. Athletes often strain or tear muscles and sprain ligaments when they are putting above normal levels of stress on the connection points through their explosive motions and high force collisions. Two sports where this is particularly common are soccer and football. Due to the high levels of running and cutting in both sports, lower body injuries, particularly to the knee are some of the most common injuries that occur. The purpose of this study was to take a retrospective look at ACL tears in college …
