The Effect Of Hrm Quality On Trust And Team Cohesion, Igor Ivašković
Economic and Business Review
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between the perceived quality of HRM, trust among athletes, their trust in head coach, and the perceived team cohesion in the context of basketball teams from four South East European countries. First, the modified version of HRM quality scale was verified on one sample of 277 athletes from 36 clubs. Then the model was developed with the theoretical fundamentals of social exchange theory and tested on data from other sample of 282 athletes from 37 basketball clubs. Results show that the perceived quality of HRM directly affects degree of athletes’ …

I love movie lines. So many epic motivational themes about overcoming obstacles come from movies like “Braveheart,” “Rocky” and “Remember the Titans.”
Correlating Coworker Relations, Employee Involvement, And Leadership With Associate Commitment In Select Healthcare Companies Using A Mixed Sequential Explanatory Design, Kimberly Ann Lee
Theses & Dissertations
Increasing patient demands and decreasing reimbursement require better efficiency and effectiveness in health care systems and, subsequently, in health care teams. These environmental and societal factors are further complicated by the complex initiatives set forth by the Affordable Care Act (2010). In this study, the researcher sought to examine and identify the strongest variables of health care teaming and to explore resulting themes through the perception of groups of health care associates. This mixed sequential explanatory design first examined the relationships between coworker relations, employee involvement, and leadership with associate commitment and with each other. An existing database of associate …

Not Enough Cooks In The Kitchen: An Empirical Test Of A Two-Factor Model Of Work Unit Understaffing, Cristina Keiko Hudson
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Although most working adults possess a lay understanding of understaffing in the workplace and may, in fact, feel they are experiencing such a stressor, a review of the research literature reveals a general lack of empirical work on understaffing and its consequences. Hudson and Shen (2013, Development and testing of a new measure of understaffing. Paper presented at the Southern Management Association 2013 Meeting, New Orleans, LA) recently proposed a new model of understaffing that distinguished between two types of personnel deficiencies, manpower and expertise shortages, and linked these dimensions to worker well-being and attitudinal outcomes and identified likely mediating …

This paper examines student experiences and perceptions of two models of team teaching employed at a regional Australian university to teach a large undergraduate marketing subject. The two team teaching models adopted for use in this subject can be characterised by the large number of team members (ten and six) and the relatively low level of team involvement in the planning and administration of the team teaching process. Data for this study was collected from two identical surveys administered in the teaching sessions of spring 2003 and autumn 2004. In total, data was collected from 440 student responses. Despite the …

Leaders As Team Coaches? Insights From An Australian Study, Julia Ahrens, Grace Mccarthy
Leaders As Team Coaches? Insights From An Australian Study, Julia Ahrens, Grace Mccarthy
Sydney Business School - Papers
We will draw on recent findings from a study with 580 managers in Australia on team coaching from a managerial perspective. Managers who coach their teams are seen as part of the team instead of being on a superior level. By using coaching skills, a more collaborative, trusting environment is created in which teams feel empowered and engaged, and deliver results. These positive outcomes can have a positive impact on team members, the manager and the whole organisation. The study also revealed potential shortcomings of the coaching approach e.g. the difficulty of balancing coaching with other leadership styles. Future studies …

Faculty of Social Sciences - Papers (Archive)
How can transnational teaching teams deliver quality subjects, work well together, and avoid the pit falls of the fly-in-fly-out model? The OLT funded project: Transnational Teaching Teams: Professional development for quality enhancement of learning and teaching has concluded that learning and teaching practice development needs to be collaboratively designed and negotiated by the whole teaching team, sensitive to the context of all team members across all teaching sites, and involve team members learning and developing together in the context of their daily work.

There Is No "I" In Team: An Investigation Of Team Dynamics In The Buyer-Seller Interaction, Katerina Hybnerova
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The importance of sales team composition and the necessary team competencies is examined in this research. This research uses team intelligence, role expectancy, team cohesion, and improvisation to build an Input-Process-Output model for sales team composition. A strategic plan is devised for the sales team presentation process through three important phases, (1) team composition (2) presentation preparation, and (3) presentation execution. The team composition process, or the formation of the team, will illuminate the competencies necessary for the salespeople who will be responsible for the presentation to the buyer in the buyer-seller interaction (i.e. the initial sales pitch). Through the …
